5 Generations of Hann Family Experience
Located in Cleveland Heights, the Hann family established their HVAC business in 1952. The company was among the first in the region to develop expertise in the then-new field of central air-conditioning. In the decades that followed, the business expanded into plumbing, whole-house repiping, and service contracts designed to provide homeowners with reliable, worry-free maintenance.
A new generation took ownership in 2000 and continued to grow the company. In 2015, the business expanded again, moving just two blocks north to its current home on Lee Road in Cleveland Heights. Today, Verne & Ellsworth Hann stands as a 5th-generation family company proudly serving the heating and cooling needs of homeowners across Northeast Ohio.
The team is certified to perform a full range of heating, cooling, and plumbing services, including installation, maintenance, and repair.

The Story Behind Our Logo
If you’ve driven around Northeast Ohio, you’ve likely seen one of our service vehicles featuring our distinctive logo with green and yellow arrows. Many people are curious about the meaning behind this design.
Verne & Ellsworth Hann has been locally owned and operated in Cleveland Heights for more than six decades. Our headquarters at 2026 Lee Road was previously located at 2277 Lee Road. The arrows within the logo represent Lee Road, Silsby Road, and Meadowbrook Boulevard—three streets that form the arrow-shaped pattern visible on a map at the company’s former location. This design serves as a visual tribute to the neighborhood, the company’s history, and the deep roots established within the community.
