The Boiler Puzzle
One thing, among many, that Verne & Ellsworth Hann is good at doing is putting together a puzzle – and taking one apart. In this case, as illustrated in the photo above, we’re taking a puzzle apart. This puzzle in particular is a very, very heavy puzzle, one that is nearly a 3/4 million BTU steam boiler.
Each one of these eight sections weighs well over 300 pounds and needs to be taken apart by large steel wedges and sledge hammers. The keys to taking this goliath apart is years of experience, working as a synchronized team, and lots of good old fashioned muscle. Let’s keep in mind each one of these cast iron sections needs to be removed delicately enough from a basement in order not to harm any woodwork, flooring or steps. The boiler team his highly aware of all of these facts because most often we find our work in older century homes. These homes typically have crafted woodworking, end-grain oak flooring and irreplaceable sandstone masonry walkways. Great care is taken to protect all of the unique assets of a home.
Bringing in the new boiler takes even more attention to detail. The new boilers are delivered to the point of installation without a scratch on them. We can turn your old boiler room into a showroom. In fact, it’s not uncommon to for homeowners to proudly show off their new boiler to guests. It is a feat of modern day engineering.
Once complete, the boiler puzzle will go on to serve your home well, keeping everybody warm and comfortable. It’s a puzzle that you don’t want to do yourself one lazy summer afternoon. Leave it to the professional boiler puzzle masters: Verne & Ellsworth Hann: 216-932-9755.

Verne & Ellsworth Hann has gone above and beyond for us repeatedly including giving us two salvaged cast iron radiators when our existing ones were not doing the trick. They came back countless times when we were unable to regulate the temperature in the house until they found the perfect balance. They’ve responded to emergencies in a matter of minutes and performed invaluable services professionally and expertly. I cannot recommend Verne & Ellsworth Hann enough and will continue to use them and trust them with all of our home needs. They are fantastic.
